Barong Dance

Tour Itineraries :

First Stop we will visit Batubulan Village to see Barong and Keris dance performance. The performance start at 9.30 am and finish at 10.30 am. The Barong play represents an eternal fight between good and evil spirit. A Barong (a mythological animal) represents good spirit and Rangda (a mythological monster) represent evil one. Balinese people also belived that Barong is a symbol of protector. There are many kinds of Barong faces, such as Barong cat, Barong Landung, Barong Macan (tiger face) Barong celeng (pig face).

Secondly, we will continue our journey into Celuk Village (Gold and Silver smith village) which was very famous for gold and silver Smith there are a lot of huge silver shops, Mas and Kemenuh Village (the wordcarving village) both village produce very good quality of woodcarving made from very hard wood such as teak, mahogany, ebony and hibiscus wood, those of wood import from another island such as Java, Sumatra and Sulawesi, Batuan or Lod Tunduh Village (Painter village)  is a place where you can see the society created variety of painting.

Thirdly, we will stop at Taman Ayun Temple in Mengwi, which was a huge state temple of Mengwi Kingdom surrounded by a wide moat, the temple built in 1634. Outside yard with open grassy expanse and meeting hall for held the meeting, dance performance and sometime cockfighting.

The last destination for our program is stop at Tanah Lot Temple, The temple perched on a little rocky islet. This temple was built in 16th century by the Javanese priest Danghyang Nirartha who have built many temples near the sea around the island such as Rambut Siwi Temple in west of Bali, Pulaki Temple and Ponjok Batu Temple in North of Bali. In the western side of Tanah Lot Temple, there are small temple built one of the temple in the top rock with hole called Batu Bolong Temple.
